Join us this summer (Memorial Day weekend, May 26th, through Labor Day weekend, September 1st) for intergenerational worship at 10 a.m. in our air-conditioned sanctuary. You'll participate in an hour and fifteen minutes-long service that is Biblically-based, rooted in the rich traditions of the Reformed branch of Christianity, and tailored to help us encounter God in the midst of our contemporary lives.
Freemasons from our area will be here again this year to celebrate Saint John's Day with us on June 23rd. They (along with our pastor, who is a Grand Chaplain) will wear their colorful aprons and jewels as they join us in worship. Afterwards, join them for a luncheon in Fellowship Hall (tickets are $7 each), featuring guest speaker Thomas Sturgeon, Past Grand Master of Pennsylvania (the largest grand lodge in the western hemisphere), retired law enforcement official, active member of his church, and father and father-in-law of two pastors!
A recently-graduated seminary student will get a chance to "stretch her wings" on July 7th as she leads worship for us. Please make it a point to be here and give her your prayerful and loving support.
We'll celebrate our pastor's birthday and wedding anniversary this summer with TWO days of Sunday Sundaes -- make your own ice cream sundaes -- on July 14 and August 11. These are always lots of fun . . . and tasty.
Jesus commanded us to love one another as He loves us. In that spirit, our summer worship services will be followed by refreshments every Sunday.
We'll celebrate Holy Communion (the Lord's Supper) on June 2nd, July 7th, August 4th, and September 1st, and invite all followers of Jesus Christ, no matter what denomination or tradition, to join us. In keeping with our emphasis on fellowship, we share the bread and grape juice with you in your seat, and then eat and drink together.
The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated as needed to welcome the children of God (of any age) into our midst. If you are interested in being baptized, having your child baptized, or simply learning more, please speak with our pastor on Sunday morning.
Weddings and marriage vow renewal ceremonies can be scheduled by phoning the church office at (724) 342-2310.
Pastor David Williamson and Musician Emeritus Ann Malsom lead a lively worship service for the residents of Whispering Oaks on South Buhl Farm Drive the first Saturday of August and September at 4 p.m. Pastor David or Pastor Julia Williamson goes to The Ridgewood of Shenango Valley, a United Church of Christ-related assisted living community just down the hill from UPMC Farrell, every Tuesday afternoon at 3:45 p.m. Pastor David will lead worship at John XXIII on August 8th. And our pastor leads worship in a beautiful outdoor chapel at Custaloga Town Boy Scout camp in northeast Mercer County throughout the summer.
